Board of Education
Charlene Bertolino is married to Bob Bertolino, Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services in Trinidad, and is the mother of one daughter, Tory, a student at Trinidad High School. Charlene has been in education for 29 years and is presently in her 7th year as an online PE and English teacher for Insight School of Colorado. She was one of the state’s pioneers in providing online instruction. Charlene was elected to the Board of Education on November 3, 2009 and is presently Vice President of the Board.
Manuel Torres is married to Donna Sue Torres. He is the father of three school age children. He was elected to the Board of Education on November 3, 2009 and is presently Secretary of the Board. Manuel is employed by the City of Trinidad in the Water Works Department.
Jack Vallejos
Paul Montera is the husband of former TSD1 Board member Karen Montera, they have three grown children, all graduates of Trinidad High School and Trinidad State Junior College. Paul is a graduate of TSJC and Colorado State University, where he earned both his Bachelor of Education and Master of Education degrees. He was a teacher and administrator at Trinidad State Junior College for over 34 years, retiring in 2005. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus, the president of the Trinidad Area School and Public Employees Retirement Association and the Treasurer of the Board.
Linda is the wife of Marc Vigil and the mother of four children. Mrs. Vigil has served on the Trinidad School District One Board of Education for almost 2 years. Mrs. Vigil is employed at the City of Trinidad as an Assistant to Utilities Superintendent.
