Superintendent
Manuel (Manny) Rodriguez hails from Odessa, Texas where he found sports as a way to achieve his goals in life. He went on to become a 3rd Team Central Press All-American football player for Warren Woodson and Jim Wood at New Mexico State University. He was elected Team Captain his senior year, and was named most valuable offensive lineman in two consecutive years. Prior to beginning his administrative career he experienced a successful teaching and coaching career. Realizing he could make a greater impact on a larger number of students, his self-identified “mission” and “passion” in life, Manny attained a Master’s Degree as an Instructional Specialist from The University of Texas at El Paso, and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from New Mexico State University.
Dr. Rodriguez has campus administrative experience as an assistant principal, a high school principal, and a middle school principal. As a district administrator he has served as Associate Superintendent, Superintendent, and most recently as Assistant Superintendent in Baltimore County Public Schools. Currently, he is serving as Superintendent in The Trinidad School District, Trinidad, Colorado. Dr. Rodriguez has helped improve student learning and student achievement in low performing and challenged schools and districts in three states. He has led, guided, and supported these schools from unacceptable ratings and facilitated their transition to successful learning centers. Dr. Rodriguez efforts are documented and verifiable. The focused effort is embedded in continuous improvement processes acquired in the Houston area working with a trilogy of successful superintendents and with the American Productivity Quality Center (APQC).
