* School Choice is not an available option in the Trinidad School District. TSD has one school per grade span.
The federal education law, No Child Left Behind (NCLB) requires that schools in their 2nd year of school improvement or beyond offer tutoring to students in need. Fisher’s Peak Elementary School is in its 2nd year improvement. The tutoring program is optional.

Who is eligible for services?
All free and reduced students who attend a school in 2nd year of school improvement or beyond are eligible for tutoring. However, the district resources will be prioritized and the district will give priority to students based on performance.
Who are the tutors?
The State of Colorado has a list of approved tutoring providers in your area from which to choose. This is a list of tutors available in our district.

Where is the tutoring?
Tutoring will take place at the student’s school or online.
How much is tutoring?
Tutoring is free for prioritized eligible students and will be paid for by the school district.
When is tutoring?
Tutoring is provided outside of the school day.
How do students get to tutoring?
Parents are responsible for getting their child to and from tutoring services.
Why should I consider additional assistance for my child?
Tutoring services will help your child be successful in reading and/or math.
What will my child study?
Students will receive extra help in the areas they struggle in at school. The school and the tutor will make goals for each student.
How will I know what my child is doing during the tutoring session?
Tutors are required to send home letters throughout the program to inform you of your child’s progress.
How do I choose the right tutoring provider for my child?
Review the attached list of approved providers and note they are separated by delivery model either school or online. Choose a tutoring provider that has a program that you believe will work for you and your child
What if tutoring isn’t helping my child?
A parent may request a different provider if their child is not having success.
How long is the tutoring program?
Your child is eligible to receive tutoring as long as his/her school remains on Improvement.
The deadline for applications for SES services is November 14, 2011.
