Reading First
Fisher’s Peak Elementary School and Trinidad School District #1 have been very lucky to have been awarded a Colorado Reading First grant for the past 4 years. The money from this grant has allowed the school to employ a Reading Coach who works with classroom teachers in the area of literacy education. It has also allowed for continuous training of 2nd and 3rd grade teachers in the most current and effective methods for teaching reading.
Everyday Mathematics
Fisher’s Peak Elementary School is very pleased to have added the Everyday Mathematics program to our curriculum this year. This is a program that is proven to raise test scores as well as to better prepare students for future mathematical endeavors both in school and in life. We are confident that the implementation of this program will be a huge benefit to both students and teachers in our school.
